Albert Kner (18991976) was not the only Old-World artist to arrive in America knowing very little English, but not too long after his ship landed indeed, with his very first job here he reshaped how the world perceives and interacts with the staples of everyday life, via the way that they are packaged. It is easy to dismiss consumer packaging as lowbrow art, while some may not consider it art at all. We hope this book disabuses the reader of any such (mis)conception. Packaging design should be considered as elevated as architecture, both disciplines straddle design, structure, and the social environment.
